I was wandering around #Genève and people were go I was wandering around #Genève and people were going into an unmarked mansion so I followed, and discovered an incredible collection of ceramic and glassware. Here's a tiny sample of over 30, 000 treasures. Apparently the main trade of historical #Switzerland isn't chocolate or watches, it's ceramics, and it's interesting to see how art and design influenced manufacturing.

Some powerful images from all the world's flashpoints but not a word about the war crimes being perpetrated on the #Palestinian people right now.

I was slightly disappointed as they failed to summarise the essence of humanitarian work, and I left feeling more confused.

Apparently this is the best book to read about Pal Apparently this is the best book to read about Palestine. It was first published in 1980 and my copy is really old, but it's been updated.

I feel the need to understand #Palestine and the background to the #Israeli policy of #apartheid. I don't condone #Hamas terrorism but why respond with collective punishment? It's a war crime.

I'm also reading a book about #Australia and what we did to the #indigenous people there reminds me of Israel's policy towards the Palestinians. #genocideingaza

It's disgraceful that our governments support it.

I went to a stunning exhibition of works by non ar I went to a stunning exhibition of works by non artists. L'art brut. In Lausanne. Thanks to @hanneylesley for the suggestion.

But should people who've been institutionalised be allowed to exhibit? Some say only trained artists should be. What do you think?

Here's the exhibition blurb:

"Art Brut is made by self-taught people who often live on the margins of society, either as rebellious souls or as beings that are impervious to normative and collective values.

Among them are prisoners, residents from psychiatric hospitals, eccentrics, loners and outcasts whose creative expression exists for itself, without any concern for public criticism or what other people might think.

They invent their own creative space, seeking neither recognition nor approval. Totally original in their chosen means and materials, utterly singular in their creative processes, they produce works that are untainted by artistic tradition.

Thus as a notion Art Brut rests on social characteristics and aesthetic features. We owe the original term of "Art Brut" to the French painter Jean #Dubuffet (1901-1985). We owe him the museum as well, which opened in 1976 after Dubuffet donated his collection to the City of Lausanne. All exhibited works from the permanent collection stemming from Dubuffet's donation are indicated by a stamp he devised at the time."
